im 20 and i was raised like he describes in this song, back when, life was simple, there wasn't gangsters on every corner, it was safe to walk around your neighborhood and know that no one is going to mess with you and you could send your kids to the park across the street and know they would come home with no problems, i miss most of all the nights i got to spend at my nanas house sitting on the porch till it got dark just talking and drinking sweet tea with the neighbors!!
"I miss back when" my town was a striving farm town, before the city slickers destroyed it. Before these selfish, lazy, spoiled, and arrogant people came; to be frank they wouldn't know a hard day's work if it bit them in the ass. Most importantly, before the farmers had to fight for survival. NO FARMERS, NO FOOD!
